Overview of myWUR functionalities
myWUR is a platform that helps students at Wageningen University access everything they need for their education and campus life. The mobile app provides:
- Personal schedule via TimeEdit
- Quick links to Brightspace and Osiris
- Latest news and upcoming or ongoing campus events
- Notifications for new announcements in Brightspace and Osiris
- Info page with links to Student Support, important campus addresses, and visiting hours
The app has been designed with students in mind, however, teachers and other university staff can also download and use the app.
In this article, you will learn about the main features of myWUR and how it works for both students and staff.
More information on how to use the application can be found on myWUR - Gateway to all you need to know | Student Support
1. Home: a snapshot of your day
What students see
The Home screen shows what matters for today:
- announcements from Brightspace and Osiris (under the bell icon in the upper right corner),
- scheduled items,
- events taking place on the campus,
- the latest news,
- quick links to Osiris and Brightspace.
What should I know as a teacher?
- When you send students a course-related announcement through Brightspace, they will receive a notification via the bell icon in the upper right-hand corner of the app (1). When they click on the icon, they will be able to read the whole announcement.
- The academic schedule items are uploaded from TimeEdit, so if you are not enrolled in any course via TimeEdit, you will not see any scheduled items yourself (2). However, you will be able to see the events taking place on the campus today as well as the latest news.
2. Schedule: always up-to-date
Under the Schedule tab, students can see when their classes are scheduled, what time they start, and where they need to be. They can choose to view their academic activities by day, week, or month. When students click on an item, they will see more details such as time, location, group, and any additional comments.

The month view:
The view of a specific item with activity details. When the student clicks on Navigate, a Google Maps page opens with directions to the location on campus.
3. News: stay in the loop
News items appear under the News tab. All news is displayed in a single feed and is visible to all users. Clicking on a news item will take you to the full article.
Some news items may be marked as important. In that case, the item will be highlighted in green for better visibility.
In case of a crisis or emergency, a relevant news item will be published with a push notification sent to all users. The item will also bee highlighted in green and pinned on top of the news feed.
Certain items may also be pinned to remain visible for a longer period or to indicate higher priority.
What should I know as a teacher?
- If you have news to share with all students, or a possibly large group of them, please fill out a submission form available here: Internal knowledge - Student app myWUR and send it to [email protected] for posting.
- There is a special channel only visible to the first-year BSc and MSc students: Getting Started @WUR (GS@W), where practical information about living and studying in Wageningen is shared regularly.
4. Events: what's happening on the campus
Under the Events tab, users - students and staff alike - can see what extracurricular events are scheduled to take place on the campus (or in Wageningen city). The events published on myWUR are (co-)organised by the WUR staff or students and are focused on education, career, culture or well-being.
Events that are happening live on campus and are free walk-in events are marked with a red blinking dot on the app’s home page, so that anyone who wishes to join can still do so. See the screenshot below:
