In the article Logging into the Video Platform Using WUR's SSO Credentials you can find more information about this.

Uploading Your Audio or Video file

  1. Once logged in, click on the Upload button at the top of the page.

The Add Media screen will now appear.

  1. Drag and Drop or Browse and choose the audio or video file you want to upload for transcription.

By default, the audio files will be captioned and transcribed in English. If your audio files are in another language, follow step 3 and 4 to adjust the settings:

  1. Click on Manage Captions
  2. Select the Language
  3. Optional: Add Additional Auto-Captioning Dictionary

If you or the people speaking in the audio use specific or technical terms, you can improve the accuracy of the captions by adding these terms to the auto-captioning dictionary. Enter any specific words or phrases that are frequently used in the audio. This helps the transcription tool recognize and accurately transcribe these terms.

The transcription process duration can vary depending on the length and quality of your audio file. It typically takes a few minutes to an hour. You will receive a notification once the transcription process is complete.

Accessing the Transcript

  1. Go back to My Media
  2. Hover over the video
  3. Click on More...
  4. Click on the tab Accessibility
  5. You can now download the Plain Text or PDF

Q: The transcript is not available.

A: You can request captions and transcripts by clicking "Auto Caption" in the Accessibility tab. If the button is highlighted like "Human Caption," it means your request is already in progress.
