Getting started with Studio Clip Portal
This manual explains how to use the Studio Clip Portal to provide metadata for your videos. Correct metadata ensures your videos are uploaded to YuJa with the right information and can be easily found by you and your students.
Adding metadata to your video applies to the following scenario's (for now):
- You will record one or more video's in the studio together with team Educational Media.
- You already have (your own) recorded video's, for example screen recordings at home.
In this article:
Accessing the Portal
Go to https://studioclip.wur.nl and login with your WUR credentials. For each video, you will need to add metadata. Press the Add (1) button to add new video metadata.
Adding Metadata
Now, you will need to fill in 4 tabs with information: Personal information, Knowledge Clip Information, Details regarding your organization and Publication information. Start by adding your personal information in the first tab.
Fill in the Clip Title and Clip Description. For type of knowledge clip, please choose the right type. If you are not sure, please check the About Knowledge Clips article. Did you make a recording at home already? Choose screen recording. When choosing language, please choose the spoken language in the video.
Tip: Copy the list of keywords for yourself in case you need to add metadata for multiple video's! This will save you some time entering keywords for every video.
When entering the course code, make sure the course code is exactly the same for every video.
In the Publication tab, enter the year of publication (the year in which your video will be live to your audience) and set the availability.
Next Steps
Now that you have entered your metadata for the video you will need to proceed with the next step.
Your next step depends on one of the following scenario's:
In case you already have recorded video's, it's very important to match your video filenames with the ID's of your inserted metadata. This way, the system will know which metadata ID belongs to which video. You do this by adding the prefix x_ to your MP4 file, where 'x' is the number that refers to the metadata ID.
Once you're done, please upload the video files to a folder where the EduMedia team can find your video's (for example a teams folder).
Select a PowerPoint template
In case you are planning to record video's in the studio you will need to take some additional steps. The first step is to select a PowerPoint template which you will be using for presenting in the studio. Click the second icon in the menu:

Choose a template you wish to use to present your content and click Download.
Please do not rename the PowerPoint file, as it contains a prefix that corresponds to the metadata ID. In the example below, the prefix for the file is '7_' which corresponds to the metadata ID in the Studio Clip Portal.
Now add all the content you want to present to your PowerPoint template (according to the template). When you are done, make sure to upload the PowerPoint file to a folder where the EduMedia team can find your PowerPoint presentation (for example a teams folder).
Record in the studio
When you are ready, book an appointment in the studio to record your knowledge clip!
Select your take for upload
After recording your video in the studio you will select a take to upload. It's common when recording a video in the studio, you & the operator will need to do more than one take for a video, in case you make a mistake when presenting.
Click on the third icon in the menu:

Now select the take you want to upload to YuJa:
And click Upload selected takes:
