Registration of a PhD candidate

How does a registration of a PhD candidate look like?

The admission and registration of a PhD candidate at Wageningen University follows a sequence of steps.

1. The chair group provides the graduate school with information regarding the PhD candidate and the PhD trajectory;

2. The graduate school initiates the registration in Hora Finita and asks the PhD candidate to upload required documents and information;

3. The PhD candidate completes and submits the registration form in Hora Finita;

4. The graduate school assesses the information. If everything is in order, the graduate school sends the information to Doctoral Service Centre;

5. The Doctoral Service Centre (DSC), team Admission, checks the registration form. If everything is in order, the DSC Office sends a request to the chair group secretariat for approval;

6. The chair group secretariat checks the estimated start date and end date. If correct, the secretariat approves the registration.

After the registration has been approved, the registration in Hora Finita will be changed automatically into a PhD project.

How can I check the status of the registration?

The status of the registration can be found underneath the tab PhD project registrations.

1. Go to Home > PhD project registrations and click on the PhD candidate.

2. The tab General opens. Information about the status can be found in the fields Status and Agreed at the top of the page and Comments (if applicable) at the bottom of the page.
