For MSc theses, MSc-internships and MSc-research practice, the process is run in Osiris-Case and the grade is entered immediately upon entering and confirming the assessment by the examiner. Based on the EER, this confirming by the examiner takes place immediately after the oral defence. When entered at a later moment, back-dating is possible for 7 calender days. EXCEPT early September, you can not 'cross' the August 31st deadline. Do note that students might have to pay tuition for another month when the examiner is late with confirming the grade.
For BSc theses, various procedures exist, when required check with the programme team of the student's programme to find out the required procedure.

The deadlines for cursory courses are based on the Education and Examination Regulations of Wageningen University, in article 49.
The 2025/2026 version of EER can be found here.

Responsibilities and deadline notifications

In the table above, the last column shows the moment at which grades should be registered by or on behalf of the examiner. This registration should be done in Osiris. The examiner is responsible for grade entry. Grades can be entered in Osiris-Lecturer by the course coordinator/examiner and when included the administrative procedures support staff. Secretariats can enter the grades in Osiris-Basis.

Those that should enter grades will be informed by a generic email about the upcoming deadline a few days prior to the deadline, except when they have already entered the grades for most (80+%) of the participants.

Upon passing of the deadline, an email is sent when grades are not yet entered for the majority of the participants. At that moment grade entry through Osiris-Lecturer is still open.

What happens if you miss the grading deadline?

After the deadline has passed for a prolonged time, an email is sent to the examining board to inquire with the examiner on the grade entry. At that time the grade registration through Osiris will be closed and a 'NOGRADE' will be registered for every student.

When due to force majeur (overmacht in Dutch) grading is done at a later moment, the examiner should inform the students mentioning the reason.
To get these grades registered into Osiris, send them to [email protected] attn SSC-Graduation Office subject 'grade correction due to too late grading' , mentioning the reason of the force majeur and attaching a correct grade input file. SSC might consult with the examining board prior to registering these grades.

How to register grades outside of formal test/resit periods?

In some situations you might need to register grades outside test or resit periods, for instance for reports that are submitted too late. You can use the "starting block" ResitASS (Assignment) or ResitY (year) in those situations. How to do that, and what rules are involved, is explained in: How to use the ResitAssignment (RESITASS) block to enter a grade
