Surveys | How to add a Survey to Content

You can use Surveys to get an overview of your students’ opinions, situations or points of view in your course. Students can submit anonymous responses, or responses can be associated with their names. Once a Survey has been created, it can be linked to a specific area of the Content. For example, adding the Survey to a specific week of the course.

In this article, you will learn how to:

Surveys -unlike quizzes- are not graded, this means they cannot be linked to a grade item. If you wish to grade a survey-like assignment, use the quiz tool instead.

Add a Survey to Content

Navigate to your course, in the green navigation bar,

1. Click on Content, this will open the Content homepage

2. Click on the (sub)module where you want to add the Survey

3. Click on Existing Activities, a drop-down menu will open and scroll down all the way down

4. Click on Surveys

Navigate to you course, click on Content, this will open the Content homepage, click on the sub(module) you want to add the Survey to, then click on Existing Activities, a drop-down menu will appear, scroll all the way down and click on Surveys

In the pop-up window Add Activity,

5. Click on Survey you wish to add to Content

You can also click on Create New Survey, this will show a screen to create a new survey. The button Manage Surveys will open in a new tab the Surveys homepage. For more information, please visit How to the Survey tool

The pop-up page will close, the Survey has been successfully attached to the (sub)module in Content.
