Grades | How to manage grade items in Grade Book (Delete/ Reorder/Visibility)

Managing grade items include deleting, reordering, changing visibility. In this article you will learn how to manage grade items and grade category in the grade book.

How to reorder grade items

Navigate to your course, in the green navigation bar

  1. Click on Grades, a drop-down menu will appear
  2. Click on Manage Grade
Navigate to Grades in the navigation bar Click on Manage Grade
  1. Click More action
  2. Form the drop-down menu you may select from the options below:  
    • Reorder - to reorder the grade items
    • Make Visible to Users - to make the grade items visible to the users
    • Hide from Users - to hide the grade items from the grade book, and
    • Delete - to delete grade item from the grade book
Click More action The options of Reorder, make visible to users, hide from users and delete will be appeared

How to Reorder grade items

This action will direct you to Reorder Grade Items and Categories page. From there under the column Sort Order:

  1. Click on the arrow next to the Grade Item/ or Category's name and select a number from the list

This action will place the Grade Item/ or Category to its new position

  1. Click Save
This will direct you to Reorder Grade Items and Categories page

Reordering one item, will led to a re-organization of the all list. For instance, here the second Grade Item "Case 1" has been moved from first to second place,  selecting 2 from the drop-down menu. Automatically, the Grade Item "Case 2", that was in second place, will be moved as first in the list.

How to edit the visibility of a grade item

This option will allow to choose between hide and make visible of selected grade category or item from the user:

1. Hide grade item(s) from users

  1. Click on the tick-box of selected item on the left to be hidden from the grade item list
  2. Click on More Actions
  3. Click Hide from Users
    It will redirected to the grade items list page

After that, an icon will be appeared beside the grade item to show that the item is invisible.

2. Make visible grade item(s) to the users

This option will allow to make the grade items visible to the users:

  1. Click on the tick-box of selected item on the left to be visible to the users in the grade item list
  2. Click on More Actions
  3. Click Make Visible to Users
    It will redirected to the grade items list page

After that, the icon will be disappeared beside the grade item to show that the item invisible to users.

How to delete grade item(s)

To delete a grade item:

  1. Click More Actions
  2. Click Delete
Click More Actions and Click Delete

It will redirect to the Delete grade items and categories:

  1. Click on the left side the boxes to select items to be deleted
  2. Click Delete

This will direct you to a new pop-up window to confirm the action of deleting.

Once deleted, the user will be redirected to Manage Grades landing page, where the grade items will be shown.
