Rubrics | How to associate a rubric with a Discussion topic
Once a rubric is created, it can be associated with an evaluation item, such as a Discussion topic. An existing rubric can be linked to a Discussion topic. Then users will be able to provide peer-feedback and grading.
This article will show you:
Be aware that editing will no longer be possible when a Rubric is associated with an Assignment from that moment. To make changes within the Rubric it needs to be de-associated from the Discussion topic and then associated back to the Discussion topic

Associating a Rubric with a Discussion Topic
Navigate to you course, in the green navigation bar,
- Click on Communication, a drop-down menu will appear
- Click on Discussions

This will open the Discussions homepage, in the Discussions list tab,
- Click on the downward arrow next to the discussion topic the Rubric needs to be associated with, a drop-down menu will appear
- Click on Edit Topic

This will open the Edit topic homepage,
- Click on the Assessment tab

In the Assessment tab,
- Click on Add Rubric

The pop-up window Select Rubric will appear,
- Select the Rubric that needs to be associated with the Discussion topic
- Click on Add Selected

The pop-up window will close, the selected Rubric will appear
- Click on Save and Close
